Every member agrees to the community rules when they join: never share information that could identify a patient, and keep it professional. Porto Connect is built to back that up.
Verified before they post
Posting, commenting, publishing cases and messaging unlock only after a member's NPI, license or role is verified and their email is confirmed. Until then, an account can browse, read, set up its profile, ask for license or employer verification, and report anything that looks wrong.
Patient details stay out
Posts, cases, comments, messages, courses, events, jobs, videos and podcasts are scanned before they publish. Clear identifiers are refused outright; anything borderline, like an exact date or a ZIP code, needs the author's confirmation.
Private where it should be
Communities can be open, verified-only or private. A private community's discussion is visible only to its members, and joining one needs approval.
Reporting and moderation
Any post, comment, profile, message, video, event, job, course or community can be reported — including for patient information. Reports go to the Porto MD moderation team, and you can block anyone.

Who can join Porto Connect?
Healthcare professionals and the people who work alongside them: clinicians, pharmacists, therapists, practice leaders, lab and research professionals, wellness professionals, healthcare staff and students. You choose your role when you sign up.
What does it cost?
Joining is free, and the Free plan stays free. Pro and Business are planned paid plans; until billing starts, every verified member gets their features at no cost as a founding member. There is no payment step today, and no card is asked for.
How does verification work?
If you have an individual NPI, enter it when you sign up. It is checked against the national NPPES registry, and when the name matches yours you are verified as you join. No NPI? Ask for license or employer verification from your profile: a person at Porto MD checks the state licensing board or your employer, and most requests are reviewed within one business day.
What can I do before I am verified?
Browse, read, set up your profile and report anything that looks wrong. Posting, commenting, publishing cases and sending messages unlock once you are verified and your email is confirmed.
Can I share patient cases?
Yes — de-identified. Cases follow a structured format and a de-identification checklist. Before anything publishes, an automatic scan looks for identifiers: record numbers, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses and street addresses are refused outright, and anything borderline needs your confirmation. Never include anything that could identify a patient.
Who can see my NPI?
Only the last four digits are ever shown on Porto Connect. The full number is used for the registry check.
Is it the same login as Porto MD?
Yes. Porto Connect uses your Porto MD login, so clinic, rep and staff accounts sign in with the email and password they already have. New members create a login when they join.
Is Porto Connect part of Porto MD?
Yes. Porto Connect is the professional network from Porto MD, the platform for practice software and a verified wholesale marketplace. Verified members can reach the Porto MD marketplace with their Porto account.
