State Privacy Rights
Last updated: October 2026
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states give their residents rights over their personal information. Porto MD is a business-to-business platform, and some of these laws may not apply to us, or to information about you in your work role. Where one applies, you have the rights below, and we handle requests the same way for every U.S. resident.
Your rights
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy you can take elsewhere.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete information, subject to records we must keep by law (for example order and prescription records).
- Opt out of the sale of your information, targeted advertising, and profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Appeal if we turn down your request.
- Equal treatment: we will not charge you more or serve you less for using these rights.
What we do and do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
If you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner, advertising tools on our public pages tell their providers which pages you visited, which some state laws call “sharing” or targeted advertising. To opt out, choose “Decline non-essential” in Cookie preferences. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser opts you out automatically.
Sensitive personal information we may hold includes professional license and identity details you give us to get verified, health information described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, and your precise location if you let your browser share it when you apply to join Porto MD. We use it only to provide our services, verify accounts and keep the platform secure.
Patient records that clinics keep on Porto MD are protected health information. Your clinic answers requests about them; see Patient Privacy & HIPAA.
How to make a request
Email privacy@portomd.com with the subject “Privacy request” and say what you would like us to do. We will confirm your identity using details we already hold before we act. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission; we may still ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
We answer within 45 days. If we need more time we will tell you why, and take no more than another 45 days.

Appeals
If we turn down your request, reply to our answer with the word “Appeal.” We will review it and answer in writing within the time your state’s law allows, with our reasons. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state’s Attorney General.
